Artist's Description

The US Marine statue of Marines raising the U.S. flag on the island of Iwo Jima in February 1945 during WWII. This is the Marine Corps War Memorial by Felix de Weldon dedicated in 1954 to all Marines who died for their country past and present, and is located adjacent to Arlington National Cemetery just outside Washington, D.C.
