Artist's Description

Black Death. Not to be confused with the water buffalo, the African Cape Buffalo is called the Black Death for a reason. They have never been domesticated due to their aggression, and collective group defense. When a predator attacks one, the rest will gang up and protect the victum. They also refuse to back down until the threat is neutralized. These animals routinely kill lions, and are the top killers of human game hunters in Africa. They are listed as one of Africa's Big Five, along with lion, leopard, elephant, and the rhino. Photographed at Lake Mburo, Uganda.
